POST BOUND albums feature leaves which
are held into the album cover with a brass post-&-screw system,
from whence they derive their name. Pages are hinged, with the
posts concealed inside the spine of the album.
Our post-bound wedding albums
are similar in style and presentation to our book-bound albums,
and are made to exacting standards. By narrowing the range of
options available and restricting these albums to the popular
12"x12" format only, we have been able to create an
economical yet thoroughly professional high quality customised
matted-page wedding album.
The image to the right shows
an open post-bound album (without mats yet attached).
Note how the hinged post-bound pages lie reasonably flat in the
open album. When the album is open, opposing mats face each other
across a neat margin of book-binding tape. The tape used in this
image is black to match black mats (the mats are yet to be
attached; a job that is completed prior to sending the album
to you), and white tape is used to match white mats when
these are ordered.
The
image to the left shows a Smooth Aluminium post-bound album.
You can notice the three-piece cover design (separate front
and back covers joined by a leather spine-cover) which is
used for hard cover materials. Soft cover materials, such as
leather, feature a contiguous one-piece cover as standard, although
we can still make three-piece covers by special request.
All our post-bound albums are
supplied with metal PAGE CORNERS attached. These page corners
are available in black, gold or silver as detailed in the section
at the bottom of this page. The page corners serve primarily
to ensure a neat presentation of the album, since the page production
method differs from our premium book-bound albums.
Post-bound albums
allow a nominal degree of flexibility, by preserving the option
to add, remove or change pages once the album has been created.
However, we strongly advise against this unless it is absolutely
necessary, since we cannot ensure exact colour matching between
different batches of card, nor exact size matching between different
batches of pages, and it usually requires extra costs including
freight and possibly the cost of replacement spine cover and
replacement posts.

The image above shows an open post-bound album with black single-mats
and gold page corners. This is how your completed album will
reach you, ready for the photographs to be inserted behind the
mats (which are left unglued along the top edge for you to slip
your photos into place).
The images below
left show the Myrtle and Smooth Aluminium post-bound albums,
both from a top-down viewpoint. Again, you can notice the neat
spine construction and superb overall presentation.
Our post-bound matted-page
wedding albums are custom-made to your exact requirements from
our list of available specifications, and involve a considerable
degree of skilled craftsmanship. The end result is a professional
and elegant album to suitably complement a glamorous and once-in-a-lifetime
occasion such as a wedding.
We don't handle your photographs
at all, but we provide a completed album to you, ready for you
to insert the photographs. This is a simple and straightforward
process. One edge of each mat is left unglued, for you to simply
slip your photograph into place behind the mat. Generally, the
pressure of the mat is enough to hold your photograph in place,
but a tiny spot of paste will add extra security - just don't
use too much in case you should ever wish to remove the photographs
in the future.
Leaves for matted
page albums are thick, heavy and reasonably expensive. For these
reasons, matted page albums are ideally suited to a limited selection
of photos. For larger quantities of photographs (say in excess
of 100 to 200 prints), we recommend that you consider a dry mount photo album for some or all of your
photos.
